Downloading & Understanding Contract Notes
1. How to Access Contract Notes?
To access your contract notes:
- Click on the "Trading" menu.
- Select "Digital Contracts/Emails."
You will see an archive of all emails sent to you, including your contract notes, as shown below.
2. Understanding the Contract Note
A Contract Note is a statutory bill sent to you each day you execute a transaction. It includes various important details. Here’s a breakdown of what each column and section represent:
- Order No.: Displays the exchange order number.
- Order Time: Shows the timestamp when the order was placed.
- Trade No.: Indicates the Exchange Trade number.
- Trade Time: The timestamp when the order was executed at the Exchange.
- Security/Contract: Shows the stock/scrip in which the order was placed.
- Buy/Sell: Specifies the transaction type.
- Quantity: Displays the quantity traded against each order number.
- Gross Rate/Trade Price Per Unit: The price at which the order was executed.
- Brokerage: Shows the brokerage charged against the trade, if any.
- Net Rate Per Unit: The gross rate minus the brokerage charged, if applicable.
- Closing Rate Per Unit: Applicable to carried-over derivative contracts, showing the price at which the contract closed for the day.
- Net Total Before Levies: The total amount due to you or from you after brokerage but before other levies.
Other Details:
- Settlement No and Type
- Statutory Charges
- Final Obligation: Amount payable by you or payable to you.
- Other Levies/Charges
Points to Note:
- DP Charges and Call & Trade Charges: These are not shown on the contract note. Please check your ledger statement for these details.
- Net Amount Receivable/Payable: If the amount in the row 'Net amount Receivable by You (+) / Payable by You (-)' is negative, it means the money is due from you and will be deducted from your trading account.
3. Can I Request Duplicate Contract Notes & Are There Any Charges?
Yes, you can request a duplicate physical contract note by raising a ticket from our support page. The charge for this service is ₹25 per contract note plus applicable taxes. The duplicate physical contract note will be dispatched to your registered communication address within 2 working days.
4. For How Many Years Can I View the Contract Notes?
You can view the email log of Contract Notes sent to you in your Back Office page for the current financial year.
