Close Account

Closing your account means you will need to re-open a new one to resume trading. Note that there is no recurring fee for keeping your account active. Here are the two options to close your account:

1) Online Options: For Individual accounts. Before you proceed, ensure your Trading/Demat Account is individual, ledger balance is zero, there are no holdings or open positions, and your mobile number is linked to Aadhaar for eSigning.

Via Navia App:

    • Log in to the Navia App.
    • Go to Account -> Personal Details.
    • Click the edit icon edit icon from iconscout.com next to either mobile, email or bank account.
    • You will be re-directed to the Segment -> Account closure section in Re-ekyc module. 
    • Verify your identity (IPV) and E-sign your closure request form using your Aadhaar number. 

Via Re-KYC Link:

    • Click here to go to the Re-KYC module.
    • Enter your UCC and Date of Birth, then submit.
    • Enter the OTP sent to your registered email and mobile number.
    • Go to the Re-KYC dashboard, select 'Segment->Account closure' option. 
    • Verify your identity (IPV) and E-sign your closure request form using your Aadhaar number.

2. Offline Option: Print out the attached Closure Form, complete it, and send it to the address as mentioned in the form.

Processing Time: 

  • The request will be processed in 3 working days.
  • You will receive a confirmation email once the account is closed.

Important Points:

  • Zero Ledger Balance: Ensure your ledger balance is zero. Transfer any remaining funds or clear negative balances.
  • No Demat Holdings or Open Positions: Sell or transfer any holdings and square off open positions.
  • Closure-cum-Transfer: For transferring shares, send a signed hard copy of the account closure form and the Client Master List (CML) of the target Demat account with the target company's seal and signature or Digital signature
