Why Funds Transferred After 7:00 PM Are Not Added to Commodity Trading Limits
Funds transferred after 7:00 PM cannot be added to commodity trading limits due to the following reasons:
Allocation Requirement: Funds transferred during trading hours need to be allocated to the Clearing Corporation before being added to trading limits or margins. This ensures that the funds are properly recorded and available for trading activities.
Lack of MCX API: MCX has not provided an API for online fund allocation, necessitating manual processing. This manual process is time-consuming and can only be done during specific hours, limiting the ability to update funds transferred after 7:00 PM.
NSDL Account Recommendation: Clients with only a Commodity account are advised to open an NSDL account. This allows fund transfers to be updated seamlessly by allocating them to the Cash Clearing Corporation (NCL) instead of MCX, which lacks automated updating capabilities.
Allocation Cut-off Time: Fund allocation to the Clearing Corporation can only be performed until 7:00 PM. Any funds transferred after this cut-off time cannot be allocated and thus will not be updated in the margin for trading until the next trading day.
