Why am I not able to see my shares under Holdings in the Trading Platform?
We understand how frustrating it can be when your shares are not visible under Holdings in the Trading Platform. Below are some possible reasons for this issue and steps to resolve it:
1. DDPI Not Enabled
- Explanation: If your account does not have Demat Debit and Pledge Instruction (DDPI) enabled, your shares will not appear under Holdings.
- Importance of DDPI: DDPI is essential for authorizing the Trading Member and Depository Participant to transfer shares from your demat account when you:
- Sell stocks
- Participate in Buy Back offers
- Redeem Mutual Fund units
- Pledge stocks for margin
2. Securities Pay-In Obligation
When you sell a stock, the shares must be delivered from your demat account to the Clearing Corporation for settlement. This process is seamless if DDPI is enabled.
3. Discontinuation of EDIS
Previously, we offered the Electronic Delivery Instruction Slip (EDIS) as an alternative for delivering shares without POA or DDPI. Due to client difficulties, we have discontinued EDIS and recommend switching to DDPI.
How to Enable DDPI
Online Method
- Step 1: Log in to the DDPI page or navigate to the Profile Edit section in your Trading App.
- Step 2: Follow the menu options to enable DDPI.
- Note: DDPI is not available for joint accounts. For joint accounts, please use the physical form.
Offline Method
- Step 1: Download and sign the DDPI form.
- Step 2: Mail the signed form to the following address:
Client Registration Department - DDPI
Navia Markets Ltd, No 9, Ganga Griha, 4th Floor,
Nungambakkam High Road, Chennai - 600034
Processing Time: Takes 3-4 working days, sometimes longer due to the franking process.
Important Note: It takes at least 24 working hours to activate DDPI after submitting the request. For joint demat accounts, enabling DDPI requires submitting a physical form.
Important Reminder: Without DDPI, you cannot sell stocks, as we will not be able to deliver them to the Clearing Corporation for pay-in, which may result in short sales
